Halloween

Happy Halloween to all the parents of adult children! The feeling is a bit off this year, we don’t have anyone in the house getting ready to go out and show off their most “awesomest” Batman costume. We will have our light on and enjoy all the newest goblin, witches, ghosts that come knocking on our door.

I can say I’m slightly happy I will not be the one freezing my caboose off waiting to see the first snowflake fall. Standing on the corner shivering while my kids run circles around me waiting to cross the street.

I see my neighbors sitting in their warm houses, sipping on a beverage, giving us the good ole smile and have fun comment. I am finally there! I get to be one of those neighbors, its bittersweet.

I now feel like my kids did so many years ago trying to pick out their costumes but for me I’m trying to figure out what adult beverage I wish to sip on. Wave to all the parents at the driveway and wish them a safe evening. Some times life comes in a full circle.
